Coco Guaff has beaten her idol Venus Williams in the first round of the Australian Open.
Cori “Coco” Gauff is an American tennis player. She is the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women’s Tennis Association and has a career-high ranking of No. 66 in the world.
It is the second time that the 15 year old’s beaten William after facing her in the first round of Wimbledon in 2019.
Gauff beat the 39 year old 7 – 6(5), 6 – 3 on the first day of the Grand Slam.
The young American will now play Romania Veteran Sorana Cirstea in the next round.
