A palace spokesperson has confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex did not take part in the discussions held by the Queen at Sandringham yesterday.
Queen Elizabeth II called for a royal meeting to discuss the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their announcement to step down as senior members of the Royal family last week.
The meeting was held at the state on Monday 13 January 2020. Senior royals, including Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry joined Her Majesty in the meeting .
It was originally assumed that Meghan, who is currently in Canada with their son, Archie, joined the meeting by phone but it seems that wasn’t the case.
While tabloids claim that she was “barred” from the discussions, a palace spokesperson confirmed that it was actually decided it wasn’t necessary for her to take part, the spokesman confirmed to several media outlets, including ITV
Following the meeting, the Queen issued a statement to signify her acceptance to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision.
