Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale have launched an integrity inspection on the board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards on Twitter with the harsh tag #VGMAisaScam.
The award ceremony which is expected to come off in May of this year has seen the board refuse the inclusion of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in any of the categories.
This decision comes as a result of a ban placed on these two acts for their abysmal display of immaturity and gross intolerance at the previous edition of the ceremony.
Ghanaians will recall that last year’s VGMAs were marred with the scuffle that ensued between the camps of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale which saw the pulling of a trigger by the former.
Their action was condemned by all and sundry and the board of the award scheme decided to strip them of any award won.
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale thereafter buried the hatchet and smoked the peace pipe in a ceremonial press conference that saw the display of gimmicks, sarcasm, and cosmetic love.
Fast forward this year, the board of the VGMAs decided to exclude them from the award scheme which did not go down with Shatta Wale who launched some social media attacks on some of the personalities of Charterhouse including the CEO Mrs. Therese Ayoade.
Shatta Wale went on to release a diss track (which is not the first time) addressing some issues he disagrees with through the use of insinuations and innuendos.
All these events have led to the #VGMAisaBigScam which Shatta Wale fans are using to show their solidarity to the multiple award winner.
Stonebwoy, on the other hand, has expressed some disapproval at the turn of events but has not verbally launched an attack on the VGMAs.
