Ghanaian media personality, Gifty Anti, has made a suggestion that Ghana needs total lockdown if we indeed want to fight the spread of Coronavirus boot-to-boot.
She feels Ghanaians are taking the situation very lightly and that President Nana Addo is over pampering us with this partial lockdown which affects only areas in Ashanti Region and Greater Accra.
Below were her words on Facebook:
Dear People of God, I think at this rate , I am compelled to join those calling for a total lock down. What? What is wrong with us?My people, when I got to UK on 10th March, 2020, there were 16 deaths.
As at the time I was leaving on 22nd March, 2020, the total number of deaths, was close to 2,000. 2,000 corona virus related deaths, in less than 2 weeks. Today, total deaths, due to corona virus, in UK, is about 10,000.
All because they did not listen, just as Ghanaians are not LISTENING!!! Mr. President, we can no longer do business as usual. I think you are over pampering us, Mr. President.
We will be the same people to blame and accuse you if this virus claim more lives. Please, Something has to change and immediately too.
As it stands, Ghana has 566 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 4 deaths and 8 recoveries.
