Emmanuel Ato-Kwamena Amonoo, popularly known as Quamina MP has disclosed how he got into the music industry despite being brought up in a religious home.

The singer disclosed that his father is an elder of Calvary Road Baptist Church located at Mankessim, Central Region of Ghana but that did not deter him from doing secular stuff.
He told the host of Delay Show, Deloris Frimpong Manso. He said,
I like partying, in spite of my upbringing. My father is a church elder while I was a pianist in the church.
He said financial challenges he faced growing up made him drop out of the University, forcing him to look for other means of survival.

After I dropped out of school, I had to ‘perch’ with a few friends in a studio and that is where I became serious with my music. I really had to start another struggle after the studio burnt down.
I have not abandoned God; I still believe that he has brought me where I am. At least, I now live in a 2-bedroom house, better than the small rooms I was ‘perching’ in.

Quamina became famous in 2018 after he released ‘Wiase Ye De’ which featured Kwesi Arthur and Yung C.
He further revealed that “MP” attached to his name means Mama’s Pride
