Ferran Torres looks as if he will follow his ex-Manchester City teammate to the Camp Nou after striking a deal with Barcelona reportedly to be around €70m; Pep Guardiola prior to the news of the deal was said to be in favour of the transfer proceeding.
Barcelona’s revamp under the new manager Xavi is taking shape quite quickly as multiple reports claim that Ferran Torres has struck a long-term deal with the La Liga outfit, it is unknown if the deal is for this January transfer window or for next summer.
The clubs are still in negotiations, as pay structure and other things will be major concerns for the Catalan side. They were the other day in millions and millions of dept but now are looking at a deal in the range of €70.
The above would explain Barca’s attempt in trying to pull this deal off by using ex-Liverpool attacking midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, in a swap deal. However, the City transfer pannel are only looking for monetary sales for both Torres and Raheem Sterling, who will also be allowed to leave in the summer.

Ferran Torres has been out for Manchester City
Torres has been missing from team selection since October and is set to return at the end of the month. The Spaniard who was voted Best Player 2021 in Spanish National Team, sustained a foot injury and was set to be sidelined for a month.
The last time he was available for Pep Guardiola was in their EFL Cup victory over League One outfit: Wycombe. The manager was using him consistently at the start of the season but then we saw him drift to more of a bench role thereafter — but this was also because of the injury to his foot.
This deal was probably in the works a long time ago, taking into account how rapidly everything is transpiring for this transfer to get over the line.
