The National Democratic Congress(NDC) has launched their manifesto for the 2020 campaign.
The Manifesto was released on Monday, the 7th of September, 2020 after it was approved by the National Executive Committee of the NDC, on 6th September, 2020 via a press statement.
They addressed issues they think Ghanaians are lacking as well as made promises to be fulfilled when John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer for NDC and his running mate, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, are being elected into power on the 7th of December 2020.
They tag their manifesto as “The People’s Manifesto” and they intend making it accessible to everyone by using the “bottom up approach” not only few at the top.
These are some of their campaign messages:
1. Creation of 1 million Jobs to curb unemployment rate in Ghana.
2. Provision of tax incentives to landlords and real estate investors to reduce the cost of rent advance for residential and commercial purposes.
3. Exemption of commercial vehicles and equipments for industrial and agricultural purposes from import duty.
4. 10 to 15 years pension contributors to use their contributions as collateral to access mortgage loans for housing.
5. Private Schools will not be denied the benefits of Free Senior High Schools.
6. Amend the law to provide 4 months maternity leave in addition to existing legal maternity provisions and frant 7 days paternity leave.
7. Pensioners to be paid 13 months allowance.
8. Abolish all charges for medical examination for victims of sexual assault. I want women to know that these commitments are also personal for me and I intend to see them done.
9. Legalize and regulate okada business.
10. $10 Billion dollar big push.
11. Accessibility of Student loans to students across.
