Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale says his brother took back Joint 77’s Car because it’s a property of Shatta Movement and not a gift for the artiste.
Shatta Wale in 2019 announced to the world that he had bought a car for a quarter of his Militants Joint 77 for remaining loyal to his brand for 16 years.
He post on social media then that “Congrats Joint 77. New Whip. You deserve it bro. You stood for me for 16 years cus you believed in My Today..I fucken love you bro!!! All Documents in your name… Live Life Bro”.
However, after sacking Joint 77 from his camp, Shatta Wale has gone to take the car back from him after they had a fracas on Accra-based Hitz FM.
Reacting to the story of him taking back the car he whole heartedly gave out to his friend, Shatta Wale said he did not go for the car and that his brother known as Shatta Willie did.
Willie is my brother and he has every right to take any decision even if I am not around. I didn’t know about the police bit but I later called him to ask about it and he told me he was fed up with what people were doing to me.It’s like always somebody leaves and wants to paint a picture about me
he said.
He further clarified that although he announced on social media that the car was a gift to Joint 77, that wasn’t the case.
According to him, the vehicle was part of his efforts to brand his artistes and give them a unique identity and also to enhance their brands but they did not see it in that light and thought he was just ‘boys boys’ hence the reason for providing them with comfortability.
If you work at Ecobank and they give you a car and they sack you, they will collect the car. If they give you a house they will take the house so it wasn’t a gift.
He indicated that the car was not registered in Joint 77’s name and that is an indication of how dumb his Militants were.
