After the division and addition of the new Regions in Ghana, Some people who got affected are not so pleased with how things are being handled.
On the dawn of Friday, September 25, 2020, Members of secessionist group, Homeland Study Foundation, A.K.A The Western Togoland group came together to blocked major entries into the Volta Region.
Most passengers travelling to areas in the Volta Region including Tefle, Tsopoli and Juapong have all been left stranded as a result of the development.
This action has affected the regular and day to day activities of town members and has caused business men using that route a lot as well.
The Ghana Police Service has advised travellers to be guided due to the ongoing situation in some communities in the Volta Region.

Recently, it was revealed that some unknown persons who happens to be members of the group mounted signposts with the inscription ‘Welcome to Western Togoland, Stay Safe’ at Akorley and Akuse in the Eastern Region.
Sources says, the first vehicles that was denied access by the Western Togoland groups. Their phones were even taken from them to prevent them from reporting the incident.
It has been confirmed that 3 people suffered from gunshot wounds.
Another source reveals that there’ve been burning of tyres and bricks have been mounted and to how it appears, they seem ready to attack anyone who becomes a hindrance to their project.
We’re cautioning you all to refrain from the path leading to the above locations.
And we urge the government to also help find solutions to this already made disaster as soon as possible to prevent further attacks and enable indigenous and travelers go about their businesses.
