Jeana Turner, a runner up of Americans next top model exposes her story about the reality show and how it damaged her physically, emotionally and psychologically.
For those who don’t know, Americans next top model is reality show hosted by the super model, Tyra Banks in which ladies looking forward to further their career in modeling compete against each other in the quest to find the next top model.
According to her they are not to speak out about whatever happened in the reality show and she speaking out is a breach of contract with penalty of 5.4 million US dollars .
But she believes they didn’t come after her for the 5.4million dollars because the things she spoke out about were those that could bring them serious troubles and repercussions.
She revealed that she admitted to Tyra Banks and the other judges in a skype interview before the show that she had done Playboy (men’s lifestyle magazine which features pictures of nude women and models) but the producers made it seem later on in the show that they had just found out.
Tyra’s reaction after she admitted she did playboy hurt her the most, Tyra told her it made her look like a prostitute which hurts her because she had to grow up in foster care because she lost her mother to alcohol and prostitution.
Also she wanted to model so bad, she saw playboy as an opportunity because she knew legends in modeling like Naomi Campbell did playboy and Tyra always said “sex sells ”.
Before the models go into the reality house, they are booked into a hotel and locked alone , all by themselves and stripped off of their possessions (phones, keys, drugs etc) for a week. They are not allowed to go out of their room or interact with anybody at this period.
Afterwards, they’re sent into the reality house. They are not allowed to interact with each other at all unless the camera’s are rolling.
Usually the producers make it seem the girls are against each other when in actual fact, they are not. Producers makes them look bad in the public eye whiles they take out footages that makes them (production) look bad. Things are not back-to-back like it seems.
When a girl is eliminated, she doesn’t go home, she is booked into a hotel until the show is over.
The girls are sometimes forced to things they’re not willing to. They must strictly follow instructions without complaints and are not allowed to voice their opinions.
Contestants are not paid a penny for being on the reality show. Foods are ordered for them yet it’s the same thing over and over. You don’t get to choose what you want.
